Mixing it Up Release and Giveaway

traciebanister-mixingitup-newreleaseFellow chick lit author, Tracie Banister has a fun new release called Mixing It Up. To celebrate, she’s running a giveaway. Check it out.

mixingitupfinalBorn with a silver spoon in her mouth, Manhattan upper-cruster Cecily Sinclair now uses that pricey utensil to dish up fancy French fare on her cooking show, Serving Romance. When there’s an executive shake-up at the network, she’s not worried. Not much anyway. Her show’s a hit after all. Why would the new CEO want to mess with success?

The driving force behind several buzzed-about networks, Devlin Hayes is considered to be a wunderkind in the television industry. Although his plans to rebrand CuisineTV and make Serving Romance more Millennial-friendly don’t thrill Cecily, her charming, blue-eyed boss is a hard man to say “no” to and she really wants to keep her job—even if that means sharing screen time with a loathsome blast from her past.

Mercurial Italian chef Dante Marchetti a.k.a. “Il Duce” was once Cecily’s boss, and she has the PTSD to prove it. Now the owner of one of the hottest restaurants in town, Dante’s egomania knows no bounds and his constant attempts to provoke and upstage Cecily make her want to conk him on the head with a sautééé pan. She thinks they’re toxic together, but viewers love their chemistry and clamor for more.

As Cecily battles to maintain the integrity of her show, she finds herself scheming and manipulating right along with Dante and Devlin. Is she fighting a lost cause? Does she really belong on TV, or would her culinary talent be better served elsewhere? And could one of the men who makes Cecily’s blood boil ignite a passion in her for something other than food?

About the Author

rsz_smauthorheadshotAn avid reader and writer, Tracie Banister has been scribbling stories since she was a child, most of them featuring feisty heroines with complicated love lives like her favorite fictional protagonist Scarlett O’Hara. Her work was first seen on the stage of her elementary school, where her 4th grade class performed an original holiday play she penned. (Like all good divas-in-the-making, she also starred in and tried to direct the production.)

Tracie’s dreams of authorial success were put on the backburner when she reached adulthood and discovered that she needed a “real” job in order to pay her bills. Her career as personal assistant to a local entrepreneur lasted for 12 years. When it ended, she decided to follow her bliss and dedicate herself to writing full-time. Mixing It Up is her fourth Chick Lit release, and in it Tracie finally got to live out her fantasy of being a Cordon Bleu-trained chef.

To Love and Comfort

To Love and Comfort is a new Historical Christian Romance from Kari Trumbo. It is the fourth book in the Western Vows series.

Kari Trumbo book 2Margot Fleur is devastated by a secret kept by the man she’s known as her father, tearing her heart to pieces. Struggling with feelings of isolation, she desperately wants to be part of something more; to be whole.

Tyler Wilson longs to sweep Margot off of her feet. Seeing past her imperfections, he loves her for the sparkling spirit and bright dreams she once held so dear and only wants to see her smile again. Strong and determined, he sets out to win her heart but will a stubborn unwillingness to hear the call of the Lord forever keep them apart? And if he doesn’t learn, will Margot be lost forever?

A note from the author: This novel took the longest to write at over one year. I had to write it four times to get it just right. It was a struggle the entire time not only because the main character did not want to deal with where the story had to go. She does get her happily ever after, but she is forced to grow a lot from beginning to end.

Excerpt from To Love and Comfort:

“Where did the 72 depart from?” But he knew the answer before he asked. His face pinched with pain before he the answer was even given.

“Philadelphia, sir. The wreck is about thirty miles straight west of here. Follow the tracks out of town, but be careful. They’ll be trains coming along soon to bring those passengers back. You might want to wait here if you knew someone on the train. Might miss them.”

Tyler backed out the door, his mind a mess of what he’d just heard. She had to be alive. He’d know if she were dead, wouldn’t he? That dreadful feeling meant she needed him, not that she was gone…right? He turned as Jax approached him.

“What did you learn?” He grabbed Tyler’s shoulder and shook him.

“I need a horse, a fast one.”

Jax grabbed his other shoulder. “Just where do you think you’re going?”

Tyler looked up at him and shrugged his hands off. “I have to go get her and the stage will slow me down.”

“You’re sure you know where you’re going?”

“I’ve never been more certain of anything in my life.”

The Dragons of Alsace Farm Blog Tour

Dragon Banner

Everyone has their secrets and Tayte, Agnes, and Noah are no exception. In Agnes’s home, though, those secrets—or dragons—might just tear them all apart. Part of the Kindle Scout competition, The Dragons of Alsace Farm, was hot and trending for four weeks before its launch. Find out why during this blog tour!

About the Book

Cover jpeg front onlyIn need of his own redemption, Noah Carter finally confronts his childhood hero, the once-beloved uncle who betrayed him. Instead of vengeance, he offers forgiveness, also granting Uncle John a most curious request—for Noah to work on the ramshackle farm of Agnes Deveraux Keller, a French WWII survivor with dementia.

Despite all Agnes has lost, she still has much to teach Noah. But the pair’s unique friendship is threatened when Tayte, Agnes’s estranged granddaughter, arrives to claim a woman whose circumstances and abilities are far different from those of the grandmother she once knew.

Items hidden in Agnes’s attic raise painful questions about Tayte’s dead parents, steeling Tayte’s determination to save Agnes, even if it requires her to betray the very woman she came to save, and the secret her proud grandmother has guarded for seventy years.

The issue strains the fragile trust between Tayte and Noah, who now realizes Tayte is fighting her own secrets, her own dragons. Weighed down by past guilt and failures, he feels ill-equipped to help either woman, until he remembers Agnes’s lessons about courage and love. In order to save Agnes, the student must now become the teacher, helping Tayte heal—for Agnes’s sake, and for his.

Excerpt

Agnes’s face softened into a palette of sorrow. “Angeline’s dead. My baby girl is dead.”

Tayte felt Tyler’s arm tighten around her shoulder. It was all too much to take in, and she surrendered to the hurt, releasing silent tears. “I know. I’m sad too.”

A gentle, wrinkled hand reached up to wipe Tayte’s tears. “There, there,” said Agnes, opening her arms wide, offering comfort to the crying girl.

Tayte left Tyler’s side and stepped into that waiting embrace. Gone were the smells of fresh bread and jam. The essence of familiar French cologne Agnes had undoubtedly dabbed on at the mention of company was marred by traces of some foul scent that lingered in her clothes. Tayte pulled back momentarily, but unable and unwilling to resist the offer to be loved, she laid her head on her grandmother’s shoulder and hugged her right back.

She hadn’t even realized how deeply she ached to experience the osmosis of love exchanged when maternal arms wrapped around her, but now that she was within that circle, she felt comfort and love soak into her, filling the void and renewing parts of her that had felt stone cold. Her aversion to dirt and to her grandmother’s tainted scent dissipated the longer they embraced, dispelled by the logic that with enough soap and water, all could be made right.

Tayte didn’t want the moment to end, but when Agnes pushed her back and framed her face in work-worn hands, those aged eyes gazed into Tayte’s with so much love that her young heart burned more fiercely.

“Oh, my sweet girl. Do not cry. I am very happy to meet you. I am Agnes Devereaux Keller. Now, who might you be, and tell me, what has made you so sad, ma chérie?

Schooled“What’s Celia complaining about this time? Did I wash my car on a Tuesday? Wear off-white before Labor Day?”

Sheriff Lee fidgeted and cleared his throat.
“Celia Arceneaux is dead, Fortune.”
CIA operative Fortune Redding signs up for night classes, hoping to ease the boredom of her undercover assignment and learn some useful skills. But an unfortunately-timed murder in on the campus of Mudbug Technical College sends shock waves through the town of Sinful. And Fortune’s life is turned upside down when she discovers who the prime suspect is. Now Fortune has to choose between lying low to avoid the ruthless arms dealer who’s put a price on her head, and doing everything in her power to save someone she can’t bear to lose.
About the Miss Fortune Series:

Posing as a former beauty queen turned librarian in a small bayou town seems worse than death, but Fortune is determined to fly below the radar. Unfortunately, Sinful’s secrets that have been lurking below the surface of the muddy bayou waters start to surface, and Fortune finds herself smack in the middle of trouble that could blow her cover. Armed with her considerable skills and a group of elderly ladies the locals dub The Geritol Mafia, Fortune has no choice but to solve the crimes, before it’s too late.

Love’s Compass Series: New Release

I’ve loved this Christian romance series (Love’s Compass) and I’m excited to announce the fourth book is out today. I had the opportunity to read an early copy of it and it was so much fun to have the Chandler family reunited in this book. Serenity and Aaron are a perfect pair and their relationship developed so naturally in this sweet romance. It will bring a smile to your face. It can be read without any of the others in the series, but you would thoroughly enjoy each book. I loved seeing the youngest Chandler branch out and make it on her own with her young son. It isn’t at all easy for her, but she pushes on to make a better life for her child.
FindingFaithCoverresizeSingle mom Serenity Chandler is determined to do anything to provide better opportunities for her son, Gideon. Moving away from her family support system so Gideon can attend a special school seems like the right choice, even if it means her entire life is about to change. The satisfaction of helping children and being a part of their lives is one reason Aaron Randall loves his job as a music therapist. When Hope Academy instills a dating policy, he doesn’t give it a second thought. Until the new coworker who’d caught his attention turns out to be the parent of one of his students.Any relationship between them will put his job at risk. The more time Aaron spends with Serenity and Gideon, the harder it is to ignore what they could have together. With Aaron’s job and Gideon’s education hanging in the balance, they’ll have to rely on faith to find their way.
